Please note: While these Termination Instructions offer a helpful guide, they should always be used alongside current connector system manufacturing instructions for best results.
About the Termination Instructions
These termination instructions are intended solely for terminating Gore’s 4-pair Cat6A Ethernet cables with the HARTING RJ Industrial® 10G RJ45 Connector System. They first detail the tools and materials you’ll need, which include:
- Needle nose pliers
- Soft jaw pliers
- Heat gun
Preparing the cable and parts, terminating the connector at both ends, and performing required testing are all covered thoroughly with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions and visual aids, like photos, to help you ensure proper termination at both ends of the connector.
Performing Required Testing
You should perform all required testing. Gore recommends the assembly should, at the minimum, be verified for proper wiring and continuity, and checked for shorts. You may be required to complete additional testing by local authorities and/or end-users. To verify the complete assembly’s performance to a wide range of Ethernet standards, Gore recommends testing using an advanced signal Integrity tester such as the Fluke Networks® DSX-5000 or equivalent.
